Outreach

Community Outreach
Our chapter has organized and participated in a variety of fundraisers and events to benefit the local community and beyond. We recognize the importance of giving back to the community we love.  By doing so we hope to teach our children generosity and selflessness.

Our projects are usually focused on helping families with children.  Some examples of past fundraisers are adopting a needy family for the holidays, participating and supporting a team in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, making donations to Turning Point, and collecting school supplies for area elementary schools, just to name a few.

Bay-Rama Parade
We’ve marched in the Bay-Rama Parade as the Bay-Rama Mommas. We love our local community!

Adopt a Family for the Holidays
This is an annual project that our group participates in. We are often able to adopt more than one family for the holidays. Our members generously provided necessary items and gifts. We have purchased larger items and gift certificates for these families using the proceeds from our fundraisers. Everyone worked together to wrap and label gifts for the families. The project is a great success and has been greatly appreciated by the families we have supported.

Easter Baskets for Turning Point Shelter
Annually our group donates Easter baskets for children residing at Turning Point, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse.  The items are generously donated by our members as well as purchased by the club. The baskets are lovingly assembled and delivered to the shelter so that the children there have a basket on Easter morning!

Food Drive for Gleaners
This summer MOMS Club of Anchor Bay, MI delivered 264 lbs. of non-perishable food items to Gleaners Community Food Bank.  With the help of our members and community we helped feed 122,030 hungry people in Macomb County!

Basket Drawing for Turning Point
This fall our members donated / put together a wide variety of baskets to raise money for Turning Point. At the New Baltimore Farmers Market, for a cash donation to benefit Turning Point Shelter, you could be entered into a drawing to win one of our fantastic baskets.  Our club raised $252 dollars for the shelter in addition to several bags of wish list items!

Mom Prom
Our chapter hosted Mom Prom in April 2016 to benefit Macomb Charitable Foundation.  It was our biggest fundraiser to date raising over ten thousand dollars!  See our Mom Prom page for more information.

Bottle Drive for Operation Care Package Michigan
Our chapter held a bottle and can drive that raised $215! Along with the money, our members donated a car full of necessities to go to deployed soldiers.
